Compostpalooza 2025 brought people together and made composting accessible, friendly, and fun! Thank you Monrovia Mayor Becky Shevlin @shevlinebecky and Mayor Pro Tem Dr. Tamala Kelly @drtamalakelly for kicking off our day and championing composting, greener living, and a healthier community! We had an amazing day alongside partners like @lacompost who helped neighbors navigate all things compost, @cityofmonrovia talked folks through organic waste recycling programs with a special coffee and donuts delivery for volunteers from City Manager Dylan Feik, @athensservices brought literal tons of free compost and friendly smiles on everything about your green bin (shout out to Brandon for taking extra good care of Monrovia!), and @seedsofhope_la that gave away free beautiful produce and added so much to our compost bins for volunteers to dig into! Thank you to @sce volunteers that loaded up buckets, bins, and trucks with compost and helped compost food waste all day! Special thank you to the @monroviacommunitygarden leadership team that always shows up for this work and community! This week we launched FED kitchen to bring healthy eating and cooking education to schools and the community! We made veggie pizzas with fresh ingredients at Temple City High School to celebrate students’ hard work in the garden, and hosted a pickle and paint workshop with Creative World Art Center!
